The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts (AMFA) is set to host its inaugural AMFA Art Market from September 4 to September 7, 2025. This event will showcase the work of over 30 contemporary artists from across the United States, featuring a diverse array of paintings, works on paper, contemporary crafts, jewelry, and more.
The market will be held throughout the museum's premises in Little Rock and provide an opportunity for attendees to engage with artists directly. "AMFA’s commitment to supporting artists and engaging the community through art is the central force behind this event," said Dr. Victoria Ramirez, Executive Director of AMFA. She emphasized that it presents "an exciting opportunity for museum guests to make a direct connection with a variety of working artists and either start building or continue growing a personal art collection."
On September 6 and September 7, AMFA’s Windgate Art School will also feature a marketplace dedicated to emerging Arkansas artists. Artists interested in participating can apply online until February 27, 2025. Notifications for selected participants will occur in March with public announcements following in April.
Operating hours for the market are scheduled from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday. Special events include an opening reception on Thursday for Circle Society and Corporate Partners as well as a preview day exclusively for AMFA members on Friday.
For additional details about the event or artist applications, individuals are encouraged to visit AMFA's website.
Windgate Art School receives support from both the Windgate Foundation and Sherry Worthen in memory of George Worthen while Michael Laughter supports its Reduced Tuition Program.
Founded in 1937, AMFA is recognized as Arkansas's largest cultural institution dedicated to visual arts along with educational and performing arts programs. Located at MacArthur Park in Little Rock, it houses an international collection spanning eight centuries.
