Incoming House Financial Services Committee Chairman French Hill has appointed Kim Betz as the Deputy Staff Director and General Counsel for the committee. This announcement was made on January 2, 2025.

Betz has an extensive history with the House Financial Services Committee, having served most recently as Staff Director and Chief Counsel under former Chairman Patrick McHenry. Her experience in the U.S. House of Representatives includes roles such as Deputy Staff Director and General Counsel for the House Administration Committee during Gregg Harper's chairmanship, and attorney positions with various committees including the Select Committee on Benghazi, House Judiciary Committee, and House Small Business Committee. Additionally, she held the position of Policy Director for the House Republican Conference under Cathy McMorris Rodgers and worked with Rep. Steve Chabot.

Chairman French Hill expressed confidence in Betz's abilities: "Kim brings a wealth of institutional knowledge as my Deputy Staff Director & General Counsel. She has served for many years in the U.S. House of Representatives as an attorney, policy director, chief counsel and most recently, as Staff Director of this Committee. Kim is an able leader and advisor who will be a passionate advocate for Committee priorities. I look forward to Kim continuing her service on the House Financial Services Committee as my Deputy Staff Director & General Counsel."
