Friday morning, industry professionals visited Lonoke Public School’s Business Academy. The skills-based education center aims to provide students with career experience and training in areas that include diesel technology. Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders announced an Office of Skills Development grant totaling $1.2 million awarded to the program.
Kenneth Calhoun of Altec has helped the academy obtain grants worth over $2 million. Rush Truck Centers and Navistar have donated an International MV Series truck to benefit the diesel mechanic students’ training.
