Rep. French Hill has expressed his support for the recently passed H.R. 1968, known as the Full-Year Continuing Appropriations and Extensions Act, 2025. The bill aims to provide President Trump with additional time to negotiate priorities and make recommendations for fiscal year 2026 spending.
In a statement released after the House's approval of the bill, Rep. Hill stated, "I supported today’s government funding bill to give President Trump time to negotiate his priorities and make recommendations for FY26 spending." He also noted that the legislation includes modest cuts in spending compared to previous years, describing it as "an important step in the right direction."
Rep. Hill highlighted that the current situation arose because Congress did not finalize fiscal year 2025 spending at its conclusion last year. He assured that efforts would continue to pass appropriations bills for fiscal year 2026 by September.
