ARKANSAS COMMISSIONER OF STATE LANDS: Auction results update

Our auction results for last week were delayed today, but here’s the news. It was a successful week, selling over 84% of available parcels for more than $1.38 million.

In White County, we offered 57 parcels delinquent since 2016. We had 67 bidders, who purchased 52 of those parcels for a total of more than $418,000, including $4,700 in delinquent taxes and fees. They purchased 37 of the 46 parcels delinquent since 2017. Those produced over $26,700 in delinquencies, with bidding raising the total above $323,000. The parcels from 2016 were the second-highest grossing sale we’ve ever held in White County.

The Independence County auction attracted 51 bidders. They purchased all 16 parcels delinquent since 2016, paying over $96,000. Of that, almost $13,600 was delinquent taxes. They purchased 25 of the 28 parcels delinquent since 2017. Those parcels produced $20,200 in delinquencies, with bidding raising the total to $269,000. This was the county’s third-highest amount of taxes collected and highest bid amount.

We saw 54 bidders at the Jackson County auction. They purchased 26 of the 39 parcels delinquent since 2016, paying $20,900 in taxes and over $97,400 in competitive bidding. Of 25 parcels delinquent since 2017, they purchased 23. Those produced over $19,200 in delinquent amounts and over $141,000 in bids – a 45% increase from the previous record collected in bidding.

Owners have 10 business days to redeem property sold at auction. Parcels that did not receive bids will appear in our online auction of unsold property after 30 days. That list can be found at auction.cosl.org.
