U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Chairman John Boozman and U.S. House Committee on Agriculture Chairman Glenn "GT" Thompson have expressed approval of the USDA's recent decision regarding pork and poultry production. The USDA has announced it will permit producers to operate at increased line speeds.
In a joint statement, the chairmen remarked, "This is great news for American meat and poultry companies that continuously lead food and worker safety standards worldwide." They praised Secretary Rollins for the prompt action allowing businesses to expand operations safely and efficiently. Both chairmen anticipate further collaboration with the Administration as the rulemaking process progresses.
