Rep. French Hill expressed his condolences following the death of former Governor Jim Guy Tucker, who passed away at 81. In a statement, Rep. Hill reflected on Tucker's influence during his early years and their collaboration on state projects.
"Martha and I are saddened to learn of the passing of former Governor Jim Guy Tucker," stated Rep. Hill. He noted that Tucker served as his predecessor in the U.S. House of Representatives for Arkansas's Second Congressional District from 1977 to 1979 and was a mentor during Hill's high school and college years.

He added, "Over the years, it was such a pleasure to see him, share my experiences in Congress, and seek his advice."
Rep. Hill extended condolences to Tucker's widow, Betty, and their family: "Martha and I extend our condolences and prayers for comfort to Betty and the entire family." He concluded by acknowledging Tucker's contributions to Arkansas: "Arkansas has lost a great advocate."
