U.S. Senator John Boozman has announced his committee assignments for the 119th Congress, including his new role as Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry. In addition to this position, Boozman will continue his membership in the Appropriations, Environment and Public Works, and Veterans’ Affairs Committees. He will also rejoin the Senate Committee on Rules and Administration.

As Chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee, Boozman is set to establish the agenda for the panel where he has served as the top Republican since 2021. "It is an honor to serve as Chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee," Boozman stated. He emphasized addressing pressing needs for agriculture producers, including passing a farm bill that supports farmers and ranchers.

Boozman expressed eagerness to work with President Trump and colleagues to implement an agenda aimed at providing certainty for farm families, improving regulatory transparency, and strengthening rural communities.

In previous sessions as Ranking Member of the Senate Agriculture Committee during both the 117th and 118th Congresses, Boozman collaborated across party lines to enhance food assistance programs. His efforts included modernizing USDA's summer meals program to increase accessibility for food-insecure children. He also advocated for economic assistance to minimize market losses and promoted securing new export markets for U.S. agricultural commodities.
