U.S. Senator John Boozman, a Republican from Arkansas, has been appointed as the Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry for the 119th Congress. This follows the Senate's approval of its organizing resolution.

"It is an honor to serve as Chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee," Boozman stated. "There are many pressing needs of agriculture producers that we will work to address including passing a farm bill that provides farmers and ranchers the policies and support they desperately need to continue feeding, clothing and fueling the world."

Boozman emphasized his intention to collaborate with President Trump and fellow lawmakers to create an agenda that offers stability for farm families, improves regulatory conditions, and supports rural communities.

As Chairman, Boozman will be responsible for setting the committee's agenda in the upcoming Congress. Previously serving as Ranking Member during both the 117th and 118th Congresses, he has worked across party lines to enhance food assistance programs and modernize USDA’s summer meals program. His efforts have also included securing economic assistance for producers facing market losses and promoting new export markets for U.S. agricultural commodities.

Throughout his tenure, Boozman has engaged with farmers, ranchers, and other stakeholders in over 20 states to gather input for crafting future farm legislation.
