Incoming House Financial Services Committee Chairman French Hill has expressed his approval following the election of Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House for the 119th Congress.
In a statement released on January 3, 2025, Hill remarked on his relationship with Johnson: “Speaker Johnson is a longtime colleague and friend, and I am pleased he will serve as our Speaker of the House for the 119th Congress." He acknowledged Johnson's prior experience by stating, "In the 118th Congress, Speaker Johnson assumed the Speaker’s gavel and successfully navigated the challenges he faced with poise and grace."
Hill also shared his outlook for future collaboration: "Over the next two years, I look forward to working closely with Speaker Johnson, a Republican-led Senate, and President Trump in ensuring a strong economy." He emphasized goals such as fiscal responsibility and maintaining America's status in technology research and development.
