Rep. French Hill and Rep. Brendan Boyle, co-chairs of the Friends of a Free, Stable, and Democratic Syria Caucus in the House, have issued a statement regarding the current situation in Syria.
The representatives expressed their concern over recent developments where opposition forces are launching a significant offensive against Bashar al-Assad's military. They highlighted Assad's regime as responsible for perpetuating a severe humanitarian crisis in collaboration with Russian and Iranian regimes.
"We are closely monitoring fast-moving developments out of Syria, where opposition forces are carrying out a large-scale offensive against war criminal Bashar al-Assad’s military," they stated. The statement further emphasizes support for the Syrian people: "We stand with the Syrian people as they confront this murderous dictator who continues to deprive them of food, prosperity, and democracy."
Hill and Boyle's comments come amidst ongoing conflict in Syria that has persisted for nearly 14 years under Assad's leadership.
