During the early morning hours of June 21, 2023, Northwest Patrol Officers responded to 11701 Mara Lynn Road, Northwest Apartments, in reference to a shooting call for service. When officers arrived, they discovered Mr. Immanuel Turner suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. MEMS responded and began treating Mr. Turner before transporting him to a local hospital where he would eventually succumb to his injuries. Later, the Pulaski County Coroner transported the body of Mr. Turner to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy and the next of kin was notified. 

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation began as detectives canvassed the area for witnesses and video surveillance. During the investigation, officers made contact with Ms. Halia Houston who was taken into custody. She was interviewed by detectives and later charged with First Degree Murder and transported to the Pulaski County Regional Jail (PCRJ). This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the Northwest Division.
