Roadclosed

Arkansas Department of Transportation - State Highway Commission issued the following announcement on Mar. 14.

Continuation of bridge inspection services conducted by ARDOT consultant HNTB will require single outside lane closures of the Interstate 40 Mississippi River Bridge.

Weather permitting; HNTB will conduct outside single lane closures Wednesday, March 16 and Thursday, March 17. Only one lane of traffic in one direction will be closed at a time, and closures are anticipated to be limited to the following times:

Eastbound outside lane: Wednesday, March 16 | 8:30a.m. – 6:30p.m.

Westbound outside lane: Thursday, March 17 | 5:30a.m. – 3:30p.m.

HNTB expects to complete the inspection within the given times but advises the public that the lane closures may need to be extended or modified, based on various conditions affecting the testing.

ARDOT reminds drivers to slow down and minimize distractions when moving through a work zone. Using a phone in a work zone is unlawful and can result in citations and doubled fines.
