Arkansas Civil Air Patrol issued the following announcement on Dec. 16.

There is an urgent need for blood and blood products to support the national response to the most recent tornado outbreak and the injuries incurred. All members who are able are asked to make an appointment at their nearest American Red Cross blood collection center and make a lifesaving donation.

Those interested in using American Red Cross Blood Donor Centers can schedule an appointment using this link. Once you’ve donated, please report it to pulselift@capnhq.gov for inclusion in Operation Pulse Lift.

Members of the Kentucky, Ohio, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee wings are asked to report your availability to support no-notice Blood Donor Center capabilities with CAP facilities and staffing to pulselift@capnhq.gov.

Facilities must be large enough to support a large blood collection effort with six or more collection tables as well as a separate area for reception and staging of donors with appropriate space for social distancing.
