Arkansas Trucking Association, Inc. Governmental Affairs issued the following announcement on July 29.
After initially closing the I-40 bridge on May 11 when a significant crack was discovered, ARDOT has announced they will begin reopening on Monday, Aug. 2. Contractors will complete all of the phase three plating by Friday, July 30. They will then begin removing equipment and barriers one side at a time to maintain a safe environment for workers. The eastbound lanes will be cleared first, reopening on Monday, Aug. 2, by 6 a.m.; and the westbound lanes will follow on Friday, Aug. 6.
