Graduates earn 960 degrees, certificates from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences

About 94.5 percent of the 960 degrees and certificates handed out by the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in 2017-18 were to students in health professions and related programs, making them the most popular programs that year, according to the latest disclosure from the U.S. Department of Education.

The agency's National Center for Education Statistics shows the public institution in Rock conferred 324 doctor's degrees and 262 bachelor's degrees in health professions and related programs.

But the single most popular program was for a doctor's degree in medicine. Data shows the school gave out 159 doctor's degrees in medicine, followed by 138 master's degrees in nursing science and 132 bachelor's degrees in registered nursing/registered nurse.

The university enrolled 2,758 students for 2017-18, including 606 in undergraduate programs and 2,152 in graduate programs.
