Cost of college went up for all students at the University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College

In-state tuition and fees rose 1.6 percent for 2018-19 at the University of Arkansas-Pulaski Technical College, according to recent data from the U.S. Department of Education.

Arkansas residents paid $5,252 to attend the two-year public institution this year – $82 more than the $5,170 charged for 2017-18.

Non-residents paid 22.8 percent more than residents this year, or $6,447. Their price tag grew 1.7 percent from $6,340 in 2017-18.

About 99 percent of the school's undergraduate population are Arkansas residents. And about 1 percent are residents of other states.

Data shows 89 percent of full-time undergraduates who started school in 2015-16 received student financial aid in some form. In all, 441 students received grants or scholarships totaling $2 million and 273 students took out student loans totaling more than $863,443.

Including all undergraduates (4,531), 3,629 students used grants or scholarships totaling $15.2 million, and 2,613 students took out $11.3 million in federal student loans.
