Patrol Officers with the 12th Street Division responded to 2110 South Pine Street for a “shooting” call for service on Tuesday, July 11, 2023. Emergency Communications advised officers that the caller mentioned an individual was lying on the ground near 2113 and 2115 South Pine Street. Officers arrived and located Brandan and Broderick Ray suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. MEMS responded and rendered aid to both Brandan and Broderick; however, both were pronounced dead at the scene. A third shooting victim, Tyrone Nutt, was also on scene suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Officers secured the scene and notified Homicide Detectives. Meanwhile, the Pulaski County Coroner responded and transported the deceased individuals to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for autopsy and next of kin was notified.

The Crime Scene Search Unit responded shortly after Homicide Detectives. A preliminary investigation was underway as detectives interviewed witnesses and checked for surveillance cameras. During the course of the investigation, information was obtained, and Tyrone Nutt was identified as a suspect in the incident along with Tyree Waters.  Mr. Nutt was transported to the Major Crimes Division once he was released from the hospital and later charged with two (2) counts Capital Murder. This investigation is ongoing and occurred in the 12th Street Division.
