Senator John Boozman marked the third anniversary of the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline and highlighted his continued support for Arkansas communities through infrastructure and agricultural advocacy in a series of posts on July 16 and 17, 2025.
On July 16, Boozman acknowledged the milestone for mental health services, stating, “Today marks three years of @988Lifeline, a free and confidential resource that provides help to Arkansans + Americans during a mental health crisis. I am proud to champion policies that support outreach networks & bolster the tools + resources necessary to assist those at risk.”
Later that day, Boozman addressed transportation needs in Arkansas: “Communities in Arkansas depend on reliable transportation infrastructure to support our economies, industries & promote future growth. Pleased to join @EPWGOP to develop a surface transportation reauthorization bill that meets Natural State needs. WATCH https://t.co/LW8blF5Uvf”
On July 17, Boozman focused on agricultural representation in Washington, D.C., writing, “The Helms family’s diversified operation includes corn, soybeans and one of the last remaining Arkansas dairy farms. They are taking time away from their farm in Arkadelphia this week to represent @ArkansasSoybean in Washington, D.C. I’m proud to advocate for their interests and https://t.co/KykiQ7nCck”
The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline was launched nationwide in July 2022 as an easy-to-remember number connecting individuals experiencing mental health crises with trained counselors. The service is part of ongoing federal efforts to improve access to behavioral health resources.
Transportation infrastructure remains a critical issue for states like Arkansas due to its importance for economic development and connectivity. Surface transportation reauthorization bills determine funding allocations and policy priorities for highways and public transit systems.
Arkansas agriculture continues to be an essential part of the state’s economy, with families like the Helms representing both traditional farming practices and adaptation within changing markets.
