Our country faced a critical decision last November as voters considered the direction for the future. The choice was between contrasting visions, and the outcome favored pro-growth policies, border security, energy independence, and revitalized global leadership.
President Trump and Republicans focused on these goals during the election. A significant step toward achieving them was taken with the Senate’s approval of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act. This legislation aims to strengthen Arkansas and the nation by extending 2017 tax cuts to prevent a substantial tax increase.
The bill averts an estimated $4 trillion tax hike, saving Arkansans an average of $2,325 next tax season. It maintains lower tax rates, removes taxes on tips and overtime for millions of workers, and offers deductions for low- and middle-income seniors. Additionally, it enhances child tax credits and standard deductions while extending small business deductions.
Reforms in this package aim to eliminate waste in assistance programs like SNAP. As Chairman of the Senate Agriculture Committee, I have crafted adjustments to ensure efficiency and accountability while motivating states to administer benefits effectively.
The legislation also advances Republican priorities such as border security, national security revitalization, and energy security through investments that maintain operational control at borders and modernize armed forces.
Support for America’s farmers is another focus area. The measure provides improved risk management tools and a modernized farm safety net to aid family farms’ long-term success.
These policies aim to responsibly manage taxpayer dollars while prioritizing national safety and strength. Collaboration with the White House continues to secure these benefits for Arkansans and communities nationwide.
