U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Chairman John Boozman acknowledged the contributions of interns who worked with the committee over the summer. The interns, Riley Swofford, Caroline Brickey, Jaiden Stansberry, and Flossie Glinski, completed a five-week internship program.
“These interns have been a great help to the committee as we work to make programs within its jurisdiction more efficient while supporting America’s farm families. I appreciate their interest in agriculture and dedication to learning about crafting policies to help farmers succeed. This is an interesting time to be on Capitol Hill and I’m confident they found this to be a valuable experience,” Boozman stated.
The internship provided these students with unique experiences as they collaborated with committee staff, interacted with farmers and ranchers, conducted legislative research, and observed the operations of a Senate committee. They also had the opportunity to shadow Chairman Boozman to gain insight into his efforts supporting America’s agriculture industry and rural communities.
Riley Swofford is studying agriculture communications and political science at the University of Arkansas and intends to pursue a career in political communication. Caroline Brickey from Memphis is focused on agriculture business at the same university and plans for a future in agricultural law after attending law school.
Jaiden Stansberry recently graduated from the University of Montana with a degree in forestry. She aims to work in public land management after obtaining her master’s degree in public policy. Flossie Glinski graduated from Arkansas Tech University with studies in journalism and public relations; she seeks a career supporting Arkansas agriculture through marketing and communications.
Information on internship opportunities with the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry is available for those interested in applying for upcoming sessions. The application deadline for fall 2025 is July 11.
