Senate Ag Committee advances nominees for key USDA roles

The U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry has moved forward with the nominations for two key positions within the Department of Agriculture. Chairman John Boozman announced that the committee voted to advance Judge Stephen Vaden as Deputy Secretary of Agriculture and Tyler Clarkson as General Counsel.

Chairman Boozman emphasized the importance of these roles, stating, “This is a critical step to ensure USDA has the personnel to fulfill the president’s strategy to meet the needs of farm families, ranchers and rural communities.” He further highlighted the necessity for a swift confirmation by saying, “It’s important for the Senate to quickly confirm Judge Stephen Vaden and Tyler Clarkson so they can strengthen the department’s work in support of hardworking American producers.”

The advancement of these nominations marks a significant move towards equipping the USDA with leadership aimed at bolstering support for agricultural producers across America.
