Little Rock will take its five-game winning streak on the road to play Lindenwood, which has won eight straight games, in a weekend Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) baseball series starting April 24.
The matchup is significant as both teams are among the hottest in the conference. Little Rock, with a record of 25-17 overall and 11-4 in OVC play, is tied with SIUE at the top of the league standings. Lindenwood stands at 22-18 overall and 8-7 in conference games, currently holding fifth place after its recent run.
The three-game series will be held at Lou Brock Sports Complex in St. Charles, Missouri. Game times are set for April 24 at 5 p.m., and April 25 and April 26 at 1 p.m. The games will be available on ESPN+ with live stats provided by lrtrojans.com.
Little Rock head coach Chris Curry said, “We are going to need to swing [the bat]. [Lindenwood’s park] can be tough to find runs in, so we are going to have to score in different ways. We need to work on our bunting and tighten it back up. It’s going to be a battle on the road. We are at the top of the league and control our own destiny, so we don’t have to scoreboard watch as much. We are going to be in a dogfight this weekend, so let’s keep playing solid baseball.” Little Rock leads the all-time series against Lindenwood seven games to two.
Key players for Little Rock include Cooper Chaplain—who has delivered two walk-off hits within four days—and Ty Rhoades, who has raised his batting average from .259 to .288 over six games while hitting .435 during that stretch. Jerdy Lopez also had career highs recently with five hits and three RBIs in one game.
For Lindenwood, Jake Radosevich leads offensively with a .308 average and eight home runs; Sam Driscoll is batting .538 over his last seven games; Seth Benes heads their pitching staff with a conference-best ERA of 2.35; Josh Newell owns a team-best record of six wins against three losses.
