The Little Rock Trojans lost 3-0 to Lindenwood in the series finale at Lou Brock Sports Complex on April 26. The team struggled offensively, leaving ten runners on base and making consistent contact without results.
The game was marked by missed opportunities for the Trojans, who managed six hits but could not capitalize. Head coach Chris Curry said, “We had a lot of really, really good swings and good approaches. We didn’t strike out much at all, just hit a lot of balls on the nose that went nowhere.”
Pitcher Nic Bronzini delivered five innings with only one run allowed and five strikeouts, keeping Little Rock within reach for much of the game. Curry said, “Bronzini was good on the mound, gave us five tough innings right there. He gave us exactly what we needed.” Despite his efforts and those from the bullpen—who combined for eight strikeouts—the Lions pulled away after an error in the seventh inning.
Curry described a key moment: “We had a walk and then a double to the gap, and then an overthrow on the relay that cost us an extra run. That ended up being big in a tight game like that.” At bat, Kade Smith led with two hits while Angel Cano, Trey Hill, Nolan Freund, and Cooper Chaplain each contributed one.
Looking ahead to their final stretch of regular season games at home, Curry said: “The good news is we’re coming home. We’ve got our last three series, and two of those are at Gary Hogan Field. We’re excited to get back to our home field and play in front of our crowd.” The Trojans will next face Arkansas State as they aim to finish strong.
