The Little Rock swimming team is set to participate in the Mardi Gras Invitational this weekend in New Orleans, an event hosted by Tulane University. The competition will use a round-robin format, enabling teams to compete against several opponents in a dual-meet setting over two days. Team points accumulated during the meets will determine the overall champion at the end of Saturday’s events.

“We’re super excited to attend the Mardi Gras Invite, where we’ll get the chance to race several strong teams in a round-robin format,” said Townsend, head coach of Little Rock. “Heading to New Orleans makes it even more special, as it’s home to a couple of our swimmers. We’ll enjoy great food, compete across nearly every event, and take some time on Sunday to experience the city before returning and jumping back into school on Tuesday.”

Little Rock’s schedule includes a Friday evening meet against New Mexico at 4:40 p.m., followed by a Saturday morning contest with North Texas at 8:10 a.m. The team will finish the invitational with a Saturday evening matchup against Tulane at 5 p.m.
