Little Rock men’s golf is set to defend its Ohio Valley Conference Championship at the Birck Boilermaker Golf Complex on the campus of Purdue University, according to an April 25 announcement.
The event holds special significance for head coach Austin Eoff, who returns to Purdue where he was previously a standout player and assistant coach. Eoff said, “Really looking forward to being back at the OVC Championship to defend our title from a season ago. It is a long week here with stroke play and match play, so keeping the guys fresh during the week will be important. The golf course will be a great test and we look forward to getting out there and competing.”
The Trojans enter as defending champions and bring momentum into a format that includes both stroke play and match play rounds. The team’s roster features depth across all positions, highlighted by recent postseason honors within the conference.
Sophomore Ed Featherstone earned All-OVC First Team recognition after a strong season. He is joined by Rhett South and freshman Viggo Talasmaki on the first team, while Mark Stockdale received both All-OVC First Team and All-Newcomer Team honors. Elliott Simonsen was named to the All-OVC Second Team as well as the All-Newcomer Team.
Five Trojans were recognized with All-OVC honors this year—the most of any program in their conference—demonstrating strength throughout their lineup. South said, “Our mindset is the same as it’s been all year — just stay steady and trust what we do. We’ve got a lot of confidence in this group, and we know if we play our game, we’ll be right there at the end.” Fans can follow tournament action online.
