Little Rock led the Ohio Valley Conference Championship by 20 shots on Apr. 27 before play was suspended due to weather at Purdue’s Ackerman Hills course.

The Trojans finished two rounds at 13-under par, ahead of UT Martin at seven over. Western Illinois and Tennessee Tech followed in third and fourth place. Little Rock scored five under in the first round and eight under in the second, pulling away from other teams through consistent performance over the first 36 holes.

“Another solid day today in tougher conditions on the last 5-6 holes before the rain,” head coach Austin Eoff said. “We did a good job on the front taking advantage of less wind than expected in the forecast.”

The tournament was halted late during Monday’s second round because of weather, with play set to resume Tuesday morning along with the final round to complete stroke play.

Atop the individual leaderboard, Ed Featherstone and Mark Stockdale were tied for first at five under par, while Elliott Simonsen stood just behind at four under. Rhett South and Viggo Talasmaki rounded out Little Rock’s lineup with scores of one over and four over respectively.

“Need to keep the momentum going tomorrow morning as we finish up round 2 and move into the final round,” Eoff said. “We will have a different wind direction tomorrow than the other three days, so a good game plan tonight will help them know what to expect tomorrow.”

After Tuesday’s completion of stroke play totaling 54 holes, only four teams will advance to match play beginning Wednesday.
