Little Rock took an early lead on Apr. 26 in the first round of the 2026 Ohio Valley Conference Men’s Golf Championship at Ackerman Hills, finishing with a team score of five-under-par 279. The Trojans are ahead by five shots over Southern Indiana as they head into the second round on Monday.

The opening day was marked by consistent performances from all team members, which placed Little Rock as the only squad to finish under par for the round. Head coach Austin Eoff said, “Solid start to the week with all rounds counted at par or better.”

Mark Stockdale led Little Rock with a three-under-par 68 and currently tops the individual leaderboard after eighteen holes. Eoff commented on Stockdale’s play, saying, “Mark had a solid day out there with a clean scorecard.” Ed Featherstone and Elliott Simonsen each shot one-under-par 70s and are tied for fifth place individually, while Rhett South posted an even-par 71 and Viggo Talasmaki finished with a two-over-par 73.

Looking ahead to Monday’s second round, Eoff said there is still room for improvement: “As we look to tomorrow, we need to perform a little better on a couple of the par 5s.” Weather conditions are expected to change during Round Two. “It will be windy tomorrow which I think suits us well,” Eoff said.
