French Hill, a U.S. Representative for Arkansas’ 2nd district, recently shared his reflections and participation in significant national and global events through a series of tweets. Hill, who has served in Congress since 2015, highlighted initiatives aimed at enhancing Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and reflected on the legacy of Pope Francis during his funeral.
On April 24, 2025, Hill expressed his support for President Trump’s Executive Order designed to improve HBCUs. As the Co-Chair of the Bipartisan Historically Black Colleges and Universities Caucus, Hill applauded the initiative, stating, “This initiative builds on years of progress, strengthening public-private partnerships.”
The following day, Hill took part in events honoring the late Pope Francis. On April 25, he noted the importance of combating hate in all forms, emphasizing the memory of Holocaust victims. Hill remarked, “As I join leaders from around the world in honoring the life of Pope Francis at the Vatican, I’m reminded of the call to stand against hate in all its forms.”
Hill concluded his observations from Rome on April 26, 2025, sharing his experience attending the funeral of Pope Francis. He expressed his humility in being part of the delegation alongside prominent congressional figures, stating, “Humbled to join our House Delegation attending the Holy Father Pope Francis’s funeral in Rome alongside House Majority Leader Steve Scalise and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.”
French Hill, 66, was born and resides in Little Rock, Arkansas, and holds a BS from Vanderbilt University.
