French Hill, a U.S. Congressman representing Arkansas’ 2nd district since 2015, shared his thoughts on several important issues via social media on May 22, 2025. His posts addressed legislative achievements and a tragic event that recently occurred.
On May 22, Hill announced his support for a new piece of legislation: “Today, I voted to pass the historic One Big Beautiful Bill. It’s a big win for families, small businesses, and the future of our economy.” The bill is aimed at securing the border, cutting red tape, lowering energy costs, protecting Medicaid and SNAP benefits, and making tax cuts permanent.
Later that day, Hill expressed his condolences regarding an attack in Washington D.C.: “I am heartbroken and outraged by the murder of Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Lynn Milgrim, two Israeli embassy staff members killed in an antisemitic terrorist attack in our nation’s capital.” He called for action against those responsible for this act of violence.
In another post on the same day, Hill extended gratitude with a simple message: “Thank you, Mr. Speaker!” This tweet was directed towards the Speaker of the House but did not specify further details.
Hill was born in Little Rock in 1956 and has been serving Arkansas’s 2nd district since replacing Tim Griffin in 2015. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University obtained in 1975.
