French Hill addresses veterans’ recognition, art competition deadline, and US-Taiwan space ties

French Hill, U.S. Congressman representing Arkansas’s 2nd district since 2015, posted a series of updates on his official social media account between March 29 and March 30, 2026. The posts covered topics ranging from honoring veterans to encouraging youth participation in the arts and highlighting international collaboration in space exploration.

On March 29, Hill recognized National Vietnam War Veterans Day with a message of gratitude: “On this National Vietnam War Veterans Day, we honor the courage and sacrifice of those from Arkansas and around the country who answered the call and stood for freedom. Thank you for your service, dedication, and commitment to our nation.”

The following day, Hill reminded constituents about an upcoming deadline: “The 2026 Congressional Art Competition deadline is tomorrow, March 31st at 12 PM CT. Don’t miss your chance to submit your artwork and represent your district!” This annual competition provides high school students with an opportunity to showcase their artistic talents at a national level.

Later on March 30, Hill reported on his meeting with Dr. Jong-Shinn Wu, Director General of Taiwan’s TASA: “Met with TASA Director General, Dr. Jong-Shinn Wu. We discussed the importance of American-Taiwanese space collaboration and the opportunities to come. Excited about recent efforts that have been made in NASA Reauthorization, which included the text of my bill that focuses on” The post referenced ongoing legislative efforts related to NASA reauthorization and U.S.-Taiwan cooperation in space.

Hill was born in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1956 and continues to reside there. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree.
