French Hill, U.S. Congressman representing Arkansas’ 2nd district since 2015, has recently used his social media platform to address a range of political and public service issues, including the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), federal funding disputes, and the passing of former Vice President Dick Cheney.
On November 3, 2025, Hill commented on the importance of SNAP benefits for his constituents and ongoing legislative disagreements over their continuation. He wrote, “Over 240,000 Arkansans rely on SNAP to help put food on the table. House Republicans voted back in September to continue those benefits as part of a clean funding bill. Senate Democrats have voted against it 14 times and counting. Thankful to President @realDonaldTrump for doing https://t.co/5z2PVHRant”.
The following day, November 4, Hill offered condolences after the reported death of former Vice President Dick Cheney. In his post he stated, “Martha and I send our condolences to the family of Vice President Dick Cheney following his passing. His decades of service reflect a life devoted to country and duty. Our prayers are with them during this difficult time.”
Later that same day, Hill highlighted disruptions affecting air travelers due to federal funding disputes in Congress: “Our air traffic controllers and TSA agents are working without pay, and passengers are paying the price. Flight delays are piling up across the country because Senate Democrats continue to block a clean funding bill. It’s time for them to stop the political games and reopen the https://t.co/009GIceMQz”.
French Hill was born in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1956 and continues to reside there today. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1975 with a Bachelor of Science degree. Before entering Congress in 2015—succeeding Tim Griffin—Hill established himself as an active figure within Arkansas politics.
These recent statements underscore Hill’s ongoing engagement with both national policy debates and matters significant to Arkansas residents.
