French Hill, U.S. Congressman representing Arkansas’s 2nd district since 2015, recently posted a series of messages on his official social media account addressing national observances and legislative action.

On September 1, 2025, Hill acknowledged the American workforce in a post stating, “Happy Labor Day to the hardworking Americans whose dedication drives our economy, strengthens our communities, and keeps America thriving.”

The following day, he commemorated the anniversary of VJ Day with a message: “Today marks 80 years since the Empire of Japan unconditionally surrendered to General Douglas MacArthur and Allied forces aboard the USS Missouri. On this anniversary of VJ Day, it’s fitting that we pause to remember not only as the end of history’s deadliest conflict but also” (posted September 2, 2025).

On September 3, 2025, Hill reported his support for legislation targeting the opioid crisis: “Voted to pass the Stop Chinese Fentanyl Act today. Fighting the opioid crisis has been a top priority since I came to Congress, and I’m proud to back @RepAndyBarr’s bill to save lives and hold China accountable until they stop shipping poison into our communities.”

French Hill was born in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1956 and continues to reside there. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Vanderbilt University in 1975. Since succeeding Tim Griffin in Congress in 2015, Hill has focused on issues including economic development and public health within his district.
