French Hill, U.S. Congressman representing Arkansas’s 2nd district since 2015, addressed recent political developments and international events in a series of posts on his official Twitter account.

On October 6, 2025, Hill commented on the ongoing government shutdown, stating, “No one wins in a government shutdown. Senate Democrats need to pass the clean @HouseGOP CR and reopen the government so we can get back to work. @jessicadean @CNN #SchumerShutdown”.

The following day, October 7, 2025, Hill reflected on the anniversary of a major terrorist attack, writing, “Two years ago, Hamas terrorists carried out the deadliest attack on Jews since the Holocaust. Today, we remember the 1,200 innocent men, women, and children murdered in cold blood, and pray that @POTUS @realDonaldTrump’s peace plan brings the hostages home and lasting peace and”.

Later that same day, Hill returned to the topic of the government shutdown with another post: “Republicans voted to keep the government open. Democrats voted to shut it down. Now troops are going unpaid, moms are at risk of losing WIC, and the economy is losing billions. It’s time for Schumer and Senate Democrats to stop the political games, pass the short-term, bipartisan”.

French Hill has served as a member of Congress for Arkansas’s 2nd District since 2015 after succeeding Tim Griffin. Born in Little Rock in 1956, Hill continues to reside there and holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Vanderbilt University.
