French Hill, currently serving in the U.S. Congress representing Arkansas’ 2nd district since 2015, shared his thoughts on various significant events through a series of tweets.
On May 6, 2025, Hill expressed his gratitude towards educators on Teacher Appreciation Day. He stated, “On #TeacherAppreciationDay, we celebrate the dedicated educators in central Arkansas and across the nation who inspire, guide, and support our students. Your commitment goes far beyond the classroom, uplifting families and strengthening our communities. Thank you for all that you.”
In a tweet dated May 8, 2025, Hill commented on a historic moment for both America and the Catholic Church following the election of an American Pope. He wrote “An historic day for America and the Catholic Church. Congratulations to His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, formerly Cardinal Robert Prevost—the first American ever elected Pope. All Americans should lift the Holy Father up in pray for wisdom and guidance as he leads the faithful around.”
Later that day, Hill reflected on America’s history of religious liberty while celebrating its 250th anniversary. He remarked “As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation, one that enshrined religious liberty in our Constitution and Bill of Rights, we now have the honor of seeing an American serve as Pope.” This marks a notable milestone during America’s ongoing celebrations.
Born in Little Rock in 1956 and educated at Vanderbilt University with a BS degree earned in 1975, French Hill has been active in political service from his home state since replacing Tim Griffin.
