Little Rock’s indoor track and field team has started the 2025–26 season with four athletes named to the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC) Indoor Track and Field Watch List. Freshman Colter Maya, who set a school record in the 300 meters last December, is among those recognized on the men’s track list. He is joined by sophomore Morcellous Harris on the men’s field list. On the women’s side, seniors Takia Palmer and Brooklyn Marcee were selected for their respective performances in track and field events.

The team returns two conference champions from last year’s OVC Indoor Championships: juniors Devin Stevens and Shane Fisher, who were part of the distance medley relay team. Stevens also won the 800-meter title.

Maya commented on his selection: “It’s cool to be recognized, but I see it more as a starting point. Being on the list just means the work I’m putting in is headed in the right direction, and I’ve got a lot more to prove.”

Harris was named last year’s OVC Most Outstanding Freshman and competes in the heptathlon. Palmer has multiple race wins, while Marcee has consistently placed in the top three in pole vault at every OVC meet since joining Little Rock.

Head coach J.P. Behnke spoke about this year’s selections: “We have a very talented team this season, so there were a lot of Trojan student-athletes to pick from. On the women’s side, Takia and Brooklyn are both seniors with decorated careers. Each came very close to qualifying for NCAA Regionals last year and are motivated to get over that hump. On the men’s side, Morcellous and Colter are coming off a strong fall of training and have set the bar high going into this indoor season.”

The Trojans will continue their indoor season at the Bob Teel Invitational in Columbia, Missouri on January 24.
