FOIA Request to University of Arkansas at Little Rock Regarding Chinese National Students on June 3, 2025.
As part of our commitment to transparency and accountability in governmental affairs, we have submitted a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request to the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. This request seeks comprehensive records concerning Chinese National students currently enrolled at the university.
Our inquiry specifically requests documents or lists detailing all current students who are Chinese Nationals, including their respective departments of study. In cases where specific student information is protected, we have asked for aggregated data showing the total number of such students and a breakdown by department.
Additionally, we seek information about scholarships awarded to these students. This includes details on each scholarship’s amount and its source. We are particularly interested in identifying any scholarships affiliated with the Chinese Scholarship Council.
Furthermore, our request extends to policies or procedures that outline how the university safeguards its Intellectual Property and other confidential information from unauthorized access by students, including those who are Chinese Nationals.
This request is made on behalf of Pulaski Times and The Coalition Opposing Governmental Secrecy. As media professionals dedicated to providing transparency and holding public institutions accountable, we believe this information is crucial for public awareness and understanding. Our role in disseminating such information underscores our eligibility for a fee waiver as outlined under FOIA provisions.
