Senior Brooklyn Marcee was named the Ohio Valley Conference Female Field Athlete of the Week following her performance in the pole vault, according to an April 8 announcement from Little Rock Trojans.

Marcee received this recognition after tying for first place at the Carl Kight Invite & Multi, hosted by Stephen F. Austin, with a clearance of 3.91 meters. This mark is her best outdoor result of the season and currently ranks first in the Ohio Valley Conference as well as among the top 100 marks in NCAA Division I this year.

“I’m excited to finally see some of the progress show,” Marcee said. “It’s motivating, and I’m looking forward to what the rest of the season has in store.”

Marcee has been a steady contributor for Little Rock, having earned a silver medal at this year’s OVC Indoor Championships and multiple top-three finishes at previous conference events. Head coach J.P. Behnke said, “Brooklyn had her best meet of the year at SFA and it’s great to see her recognized for finishing in 1st. She attempted some heights that she had not seen yet this year which will prepare her for the next couple meets.”

The Trojans have now had an athlete receive an OVC weekly award during each week so far in this outdoor season, with Marcee becoming their fifth different honoree this year. The team is scheduled to compete next at the Arkansas Spring Invite on Saturday, April 11.
