U.S. Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Chairman John Boozman expressed his support following the House Committee on Agriculture’s approval of a reconciliation package. The announcement came as part of efforts to prevent tax increases affecting farmers, ranchers, and producers.
Chairman Boozman commended the leadership of Chairman Thompson in advancing these provisions. He stated, “I applaud Chairman Thompson’s leadership in advancing these provisions and taking this critical step to prevent a tax increase on hardworking farmers, ranchers and producers.”
Boozman emphasized shared objectives with President Trump’s agenda to address pressing challenges in agricultural sectors. He noted that the Senate would carefully evaluate the House’s approach to achieving these goals.
The statement also highlighted the importance of improvements to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Boozman remarked, “Improvements to SNAP are crucial to be good stewards of taxpayer dollars. It is reasonable to expect working-aged adults who receive SNAP to participate in the workforce.”
Boozman concluded by expressing his intent to collaborate with committee members and Senate leadership as the process advances: “I look forward to working with committee members and Senate leadership as this process moves forward.”
