U.S. Senator John Boozman, representing Arkansas and serving as the Chairman of the Senate Agriculture, Nutrition, and Forestry Committee, will continue his role in promoting 4-H programs as a leader of the bipartisan Senate 4-H Caucus. Senator Boozman resumes his position as co-chair for the 119th Congress alongside Ranking Member Amy Klobuchar from Minnesota.
The 4-H program is a youth development initiative under the Cooperative Extension System of land-grant universities. It is recognized as the largest youth development organization in the United States, engaging nearly six million young individuals through practical projects focused on health, science, agriculture, and civic engagement. In Arkansas alone, over 120,000 youths participate in these programs annually.
Senator Boozman expressed his support for 4-H by stating: “4-H is instrumental in preparing students for the future. I’ve witnessed the benefits and positive impact it has on young people, including my three daughters who were active members and state record book winners. I’m proud to support this organization whose influence in developing the next generation of leaders is undeniable, and I look forward to working with members of this caucus to promote and celebrate 4-H.”
Recently, Senator Boozman met with Arkansas participants attending the Citizenship Washington Focus conference organized by 4-H. The meeting took place at his office in Washington D.C.
In parallel efforts within the House of Representatives, leadership roles are held by House Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn ‘GT’ Thompson from Pennsylvania’s 15th district and Ranking Member Angie Craig from Minnesota’s 2nd district. Congressmen Sanford D. Bishop from Georgia’s 2nd district and Andy Harris from Maryland’s 1st district also lead initiatives related to this bicameral caucus.
