The Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts (AMFA) has unveiled the lineup of 39 artists for its inaugural Art Market, set to take place on the weekend of September 6-7, 2025. The event, which will feature juried and invited artists from Arkansas and other states like Texas, Tennessee, and Missouri, aims to offer visitors an opportunity to explore and purchase original artworks.

Leon Robertson, AMFA’s Manager of Retail Operations and Art Market Director, expressed his enthusiasm for this longstanding project: “The AMFA Art Market has been a vision in the making for years. To finally see it come to life with such an inspiring group of artists from across the country is a dream realized. I am especially proud of the artistic diversity and depth represented, and I know our community will be energized by the experience.”

The artists selected specialize in various mediums, including ceramics, glass, painting, fiber arts, sculpture, metalsmithing, printing, and mixed media. According to Dr. Victoria Ramirez, AMFA’s Executive Director, the event is more than a showcase: “The AMFA Art Market is more than just an event — it is a celebration of creativity and connection.”

The market will operate from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, September 6, and from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, September 7. Additional exclusive events are available for AMFA Circle Society, Corporate Partners, and members in the days leading up to the market.

Among the local talents featured are Laurie Ament, Joe Barnett, and Deitra Blackwell, all from Little Rock, Arkansas. National artists include Guiteau Lanoue from Missouri City, Texas, and Daniella Napolitano from Phoenix, Arizona. These artists, among others, are set to present a diverse range of artistic expressions and regional creativity.

This new initiative reflects AMFA’s ongoing commitment to diversity and innovation in the arts. Established in 1937, the museum is a key cultural institution in Arkansas, presenting an extensive collection that spans centuries and features varied media. The museum also engages the community through programs like the Windgate Art School and children’s theatre.
